STABLES: Marian Blaine , 92, of Lyndonville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was born July 27, 1910 in Barnet, the daughter of the late Dudley "DA" and Mable (Woods) Blaine. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1927, and from the New England Conservatory of Music, majoring in piano. She taught music in the elementary schools in Danville, Barnet, Peacham and Waterford. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Rebekahs, the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, and the Business and Professional Women's Association. She was a former member of the South Congregational Church of St. Johnsbury. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George R. Stables, a sister, Ruby Blaine, and a brother, Dudley Blaine. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Jean and William Rieken Jr. of Los Gatos, Calif., and Cynthia and William Simpson of Lyndonville; three grandchildren, Amy Gorham of Portland, Maine, Dave Simpson of Lyndonville and Timothy Simpson of Lyndonville; three nieces and their husbands, Sandra and John Richardson of Maryland, Martha Carlson of Georgia, and Rhonda and Ivan Chathan of North Carolina. Visiting hours will be held at the Pearsons Funeral Home, Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating. Burial will be in the Lyndon Center Cemetery. Those who wish may send contributions in her memory to the St. Johnsbury Academy Music Department, P.O.
