Wolcott CT - Barbara O. Gallup, age 93, of Klan Dr., Wolcott, died peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Saint Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Charles A. Poole, Sr. and Harold A Gallup. Mrs. Gallup was born February 11th 1918 in Northfield, Vt., the daughter of the late Archibald and Cora (Henry) Dow. She grew up in Saint Johnsbury where she attended school and moved to Conn. in 1966. She worked as a Stanley Home products sales representative for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in St. Johnsbury prior to moving to Conn., a former member of the Wolcott Congregational Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Among her survivors are her three sons, Charles A. Poole and his wife Kay of Daniels West Virginia; Jeff Poole of Danville, Vt. and his companion Doreen Berry, who Barbara thought of as a daughter; and David Poole, with whom she made her home in Wolcott. Survivors also include a sister, Marjorie Dow of South Burlington, Vt.; her grandchildren, Nathan; Heather; Rebecca; Christopher and Matthew Poole; Traci (Poole) Gunter and Tara (Poole) Fagans; as well as six great grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Brooks of New Brunswick, Canada. Funeral services for Mrs. Gallup will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury CT. A graveside interment in Granby, Vt. will be held at the convenience of the family.
