LYSTER: Catherine H. , 87, a longtime St. Johnsbury resident, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Catherine, the daughter of William and Mattie M. (Page) Stephen, was born Aug. 31, 1916 in Morrisville. Catherine married Allen C. Lyster Oct. 11, 1938. He predeceased her March 8, 2004. She was co-owner/operator with her husband Allen of the Wee Hoose on Portland Street. Her children were very important to her. They will miss her dearly. Catherine is survived by two children, David A. Lyster of St. Johnsbury, and Mattie Barrett and her husband Ronald of Lyndonville; four grandchildren, Matthew Barrett and his fiancee Kimberly Guertin, Andrew, Catherine and Kimberly Barrett. She is also survived by a stepsister, Marion Radford of St. Johnsbury; a niece, Sheila Claffey; and by five nieces and nephews, John, William, Catherine, Jane and David Grady. A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, at 2 p.m., at the Sayles Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Marshall officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
