Eleanor Roy , of St. Johnsbury, formerly of Barnet, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Jan. 9, 2007, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital at the age of 88. She was born in St. Johnsbury on Oct. 5, 1919, one of three children born to O. Dean and Jennie (Cassidy) Hale. A 1937 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, she graduated from Brightlook Nursing School. She considered her nursing work at Maxwell Field AFB in Alabama during World War II to be one of the high points of her life. For the past year and a half, Marcelle and Roaul Houde made Eleanor part of their family and provided her with wonderful care. For this her family will always be deeply grateful. She was predeceased by two husbands, Fred G. Connor in 1972, and Ralph Roy in 1985. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Connor and Tony Albano and her son Josh Medlock of San Marcos, Texas (125 W. Holland Road, 78666), and Debra Connor and her husband Ross Brown of Pflugerville, Texas, and her son Brian Kremer; her brother, John Hale and his wife Jeannene of Barnet; her sister-in-law, Jeanne Hale of St. Johnsbury; and five nephews. Her brother, Richard Hale, passed away this past April 19. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Jan 11, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be at a later date beside her husband Fred at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newport. There will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be directed to Caledonia Home Health, P.O.
