CANNON: Evelyn , 82, died Sept. 7, 2003 at Eden Park Nursing
home in Rutland. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Oct. 1, 1920,
the daughter of Leo and Florence (Kelly) Mercier. She was a 1938
graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. She was employed by
Metropolitan Life She moved to Rutland from St. Johnsbury in
1966. She was a member of Christ the King Church, American
Legion Auxiliary, Proctor Pittsford Country Club and Pico Ski
Club. Surviving are her husband, James A. Cannon of Rutland; a
son, James A. Cannon III and wife Kathleen of Panton; a
daughter, Mary E. Cannon and friend Tracy Adams of
Westminster; three grandchildren, Christina, Alaina and Nathaniel
Cannon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by a sister, Edna Davis. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at
9:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church in Rutland. Burial will be held
Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m., in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St.
Johnsbury. Friends may call at Clifford Funeral Home, 2
Washington St., Rutland, Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial
