DARLING: Jean Barbara , 82, formerly of St. Johnsbury, passed
away Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at the Maple Lane Nursing Home in
Barton. She was born Sept. 24, 1920 in East Fairfield, Vt., the
daughter of James and Bessie (Corcoran) Flynn. A graduate of
St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1939, she married Basil "Pete"
Darling in 1940. She spent many happy years at "The Circle"
community at Comerford Dam in East Barnet. Jean was a
friendly, caring person who cherished her family and friends,
always ready to lend an ear or a hand to anyone in need. She
was predeceased by her husband Basil in 1997, and her brother
Francis in 1977. She is survived by four sons, Greg Darling and
wife Marianne of Littleton, Chris Darling and wife Evelyn of
Swanton, VT, Gary Darling and wife Wendy of Barnet, and
Mathew Darling and wife Bonnie of St. Johnsbury; eight
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A gathering of family
and friends will take place at Sayles Funeral Home, Sunday, Nov. 3,
from noon to 1:45 p.m., followed by a memorial service at the
New Life Assembly of God Church, 475 Whitefield Road (Rte. 116),
Littleton, at 2:15 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made
