DRUMMOND: Mrs. Marguerite Gero (Mrs. James L. Drummond) , 90, of Salemtowne Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, N.C., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Drummond was born June 19, 1913, in St. Johnsbury to William Henry and Pearl Douglas Gero. She was educated at St. Johnsbury Academy. On July 17, 1943, she married James Lloyd Drummond. After moving to Winston-Salem, she was a member of Bethabara Moravian Church and also volunteered at Medical Park Hospital. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband in 1993; an infant daughter, Margaret Jean Drummond on May 26, 1946; and two brothers, Douglas E. Gero and Scott A. Gero. Surviving her are her sisters-in-law, Dorothy D. Collins of St. Johnsbury, and Ruth C. Drummond of Keene, N.H.; nieces Dorothy Spaulding of Cumberland, Maine, Linda Shambo and Patricia Willett, both of Barre, Vt., Marjorie G. French of Seminole, Fla., and Marilyn Hiltz of Keene; two god-children, Cynthia Tuttle Davis of Midlothian, Va., and Harrison Gray Tuttle of Burlington, Vt.; and several grand-nieces and -nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethabara Moravian Church, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Littrell. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salemtowne Endowment Fund, 1000 Salemtowne Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106, or Bethabara Moravian Church, 2102 Bethabara Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
