Yvonne Bedard, 93, of St. Johnsbury passed away early Thursday, March 14, 2013 with family by her side. She was born in St. Johnsbury on Jan. 30, 1920, the daughter of George and Josephine (Boucher) Langlois. Her husband Robert, a longtime local pharmacist, passed away Jan. 6, 1999. The Bedards had made their home on Rocky Ridge in St. Johnsbury and had previously resided on Mt. Vernon Street where they raised their family. Yvonne adjusted well to her stay at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center over the past three years where she received wonderful care. Mrs. Bedard was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish/St. John the Evangelist Church where she sang in the choir and was a lector. Yvonne was a regular volunteer at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, did volunteer library work at The Athenaeum, Catholic Central School, and NVRH, and was a past member of Seed and Weed Garden Club. She is survived by her six children: George Bedard and wife Janis of Hinesburg, Joanne Jurentkuff and husband Darwin of Waterford, Marie Hagan and husband John of St. Johnsbury, Rachel Bedard and husband Carl Perry of Mountville, Pa., Elizabeth Bedard of Glenburn, Maine, John Bedard of Front Royal, Va.; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother Edward Langlois and wife Pauline of Waterford, a sister Cecile Rancour and husband Bernard of Williston; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters: Rose Cyr, Anita Gravel, Gloria Greene and Lorraine Kane. Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury this Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Fr. Luke Austin will be the celebrant. She will be buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with committal services scheduled for Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m., her husband Robert's birthday.
