Barbara Lumbra Schmidt, 91, of Waikoloa, died May 11, 2019, at her residence. Born May 22, 1927, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, she was a music teacher and an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She also served as choir director, organist and pianist for numerous churches and community organizations.

She is survived by sons, Dave (Janet) Schmidt of Hawi, Bruce Schmidt of California, Brad (Anne) Schmidt of Colorado; daughter, Sheri (Stephen Dunn) Schmidt of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
