Mr. Lawrence J. Duperron, 78, of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of South Windsor, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, Florida. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, son of the late Isaac and Adeline (Garand) Duperron. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Janice (Hale) Duperron. Shortly after serving his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he moved to South Windsor where he lived and worked as a toolmaker for about 40 years. He and his wife, Janice, then retired to Brooksville, Florida in the early 1990's. He was a member of the Elk's Club and attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church, both in Brooksville. Larry enjoyed camping with his family, collecting coins and other memorabilia and watching the space shuttle launches. He was an avid fan of the Hartford Whalers and also enjoyed NASCAR racing. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Arlene Duperron of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Dowding of South Windsor; three grandchildren, Christopher Duperron, Jonathan Duperron and Melissa (Duperron) Nieves; one great- granddaughter, Elisabeth Jeanne Duperron; four sisters, Doria Grady, Doris Winchester, Rita Blankenhorn and Lorraine Charron; and his beloved dog and close companion, Brandy. Friends and family may call on Monday, September 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial with military honors accorded will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Elm Street, Rocky Hill, on Tuesday, September 26, at 11 a.m. Larry's family wants to express sincere gratitude to the staff at the Hospice Care Center of Brooksville where the staff members compassionately saw to the care, comfort, and dignity of Larry in his last days and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
