Mrs. Ruth (Tobin) Bullock of Lower Waterford passed away at home Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born in Waterville, Vt. on Oct. 6, 1929, the daughter of Clarence and Valma (Leach) Tobin. On Nov. 25, 1946 she and Frederick Bullock were united in marriage. Mrs. Bullock was a member of the Union Baptist Church; she was especially involved in church activities when the church was on Railroad Street in St. Johnsbury. She was formerly very active in Waterford town affairs. She worked in retail at the former W.T. Grant Co. and later at JC Penney from where she retired. She was predeceased by two daughters: Darlene Bullock and Cheryl McElroy, and a great-grandson. She is survived by Fred, her husband of 67 years; five surviving children: Michael Bullock and wife Donna of Enfield, Conn., Linda Bullock of Waterford, Frank Bullock of Waterford, William Bullock of Bolton, and Theresa Davio of Adams, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers Howard and Pearl Tobin. Graveside services will be held this Thursday, July 31, at 2 p.m. the Lower Waterford Cemetery located off the Lower Waterford Road. Pastor Paul Powers will preside. All are welcome to attend fellowship back at the Union Baptist Church immediately following the cemetery service. Memorial contributions, marked for the "Fellowship Fund," could be directed to the Union Baptist Church, 1932 U.S, Rt. 5, Waterford VT 05819.
