Lorraine Gagne Holland, a longtime resident of Medfield, passed away on Friday January 25, 2019. Lorraine was born in St. Johnsbury, VT August 11, 1937 the daughter of Fred and Yvonne Gagne. She was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and Northampton Commercial College. The highlight of her high school years came when, as a chosen member of Girls Nation, she presented President Eisenhower with gifts from the state of Vermont. Lorraine loved Medfield. She worked in the school system for years. Her very favorite position was in the office of the Junior High which gave her daily interaction with the kids she absolutely loved...a love that lingered. She enjoyed serving several Community Committees and participating in efforts that contributed to the direction and growth of the town. Her gift of recall, driven by her enthusiastic and sincere love of people enabled her to recite perfectly the names of the Ruzzos, the Goods, the Sullivans, in the order of their birth! She was also most admirably and affectionately known by her sons' friends as "THE MOTHER". Lorraine will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know her for her warm kindness and positive influence. Her genuine and authentic interest in others left everyone feeling individually special and supported and is something that will be greatly missed. Lorraine is survived by her husband Clark of nearly 59 years. Also son Clark David Jr. of Orleans MA, son Todd and wife Julie of Plymouth MA and their children Joshua, Jaymee Lorraine, and Jessica. And son Jason and wife Stacey of Exton, PA and their children Emma, Grace and Nathan. She leaves her sisters Gloria and husband Paul Toney of Waterford, VT, Susan of South Burlington ,VT, Nancy and partner Don Foley of Beverly, MA, brother Richard and wife Carmen of Danville, VT., and brother-in-law Bruce Wheeler. She was predeceased by her sister Claire Wheeler. Visitation will be at Roberts Mitchell Caruso FH in Medfield on Friday February 8 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Services will be on February 9 at 10:15 AM at St. Edwards Church in Medfield. Donations can be made in her name to the Town of Medfield Council on Aging, 1 Ice House Rd., Medfield, MA 02052.
