Danville, VT - Marcia Louise (Livingston) White passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home in Danville. She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on June 6, 1939 the daughter of Hazen Asa and Geraldine Ruth (Farrow) Livingston. She graduated from Peacham Academy Class of 1957. Following graduation she worked at Rockville Savings Bank in Rockville, CT. She married her high school sweetheart Stephen C. White on March 14, 1959. After Steve's time in the Army, they bought a home in East Peacham where they raised their four sons. She loved being a full time homemaker and visiting with her friends. Marcia was a member of the Peacham Congregational Church and served on the business committee, church council, and taught Sunday school for many years. She also sang in both the junior and adult choirs. While the boys were in elementary school she was an active member of the Peacham PTG. She was an auditor for the Town of Peacham for several years, and was a 20 year member of the Just-A-Club. She worked at the former Caledonia National Bank in Danville and later at Citizens Savings Bank in St. Johnsbury. Before her retirement she spent her time as a caregiver to her grandchildren, caring for the newborns and the older ones as they needed her. This was one of the most rewarding times in her life. Marcia and Steve always wanted to drive across this beautiful country and they spent many years making that dream come true, traveling with their dear friends Mac and Marilyn Wright. She has always kept a diary and has loved having the diaries and photo albums to reminisce with. Cape Cod was another of their favorite places to visit with children and in later years with Bob and Carol Jablonski. She loved spending time at the camp on Martin's Pond: first with her children and then with the grandchildren. As the family grew it became a happy, loving gathering place for all, which now includes the great grandchildren. Throughout the years Marcia and Steve followed and supported their children and grandchildren at softball, baseball, basketball, and soccer games; all the sports that they loved and so enjoyed attending. Marcia always felt blessed to have lived her life full of love and happy times with her family and friends. When she had to live alone she was given such loving care from her sons, their wives, and grandchildren. Marcia was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Stephen White on May 17, 2010; two infant grandchildren, Randy Michael and Nicole Rae; and her parents, Hazen on November 26, 1988 and Geraldine on December 12, 2004. She is survived by four sons, Daniel and wife Cindy, Richard and wife Jill, Darren and wife Ann, and Jeremy all of Danville, and a daughter- in-law Sarah of Peacham; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Skeele Livingston and wife Lucille of Missouri and Gerald Livingston and wife Jan of Utah, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Sunday, April 17th, at 2 PM at the Peacham Congregational Church with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Potter officiating. Burial will follow in the Peacham Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Peacham Congregational Church Youth Groups, c/o Lisa Moore, Old County Road, Peacham, VT 05862.
