Ronald C. Noyes, 75, of Lyndonville, passed away at home Friday morning, May 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was born in Sutton, Vt., on Feb. 2, 1939, the son of Herman Noyes Sr. and Vera (Bundy) Noyes. He attended Sutton School and later, at the age of 56, received his high school diploma. For eight years Ronald served his country in the Army National Guard. On July 2, 1960, he married Bonnie Bristol; to this union two daughters, Tina and Christina, and a son Leonard, were born. On Sept. 3, 1994, he married Elaine Darrell. Ronald worked for several construction companies, Aja Pizzeria, East Point Properties, and worked on several painting and vinyl siding jobs before retiring. His favorite pastimes included deer hunting, fishing, four wheeling, playing guitar, karaoke, bluegrass festivals, cribbage, and going to camp. His family and friends meant a lot to him and he enjoyed their company. Survivors include his wife, Elaine; three children: Tina Chamberlain and husband Randy of St. Johnsbury, Christina Noyes of Lyndonville, Leonard Noyes and wife Robin of Concord; his step-children, Walter Stone of Whitefield, N.H., Pamela Hovatter and husband Chris of Raymond, N.H., Sheryl Duval and husband Randy of Manchester, N.H.; nine grandchildren: Adam, Amber, Ashley, and Jamie; Ryan, Mollie and Mariah; Shauna, Brittany, Ashley and Lexi; and all his great-grandchildren; half-brothers: Carlton Morey and wife Jo of South Carolina, Robert Morey and wife Esther of St. Johnsbury Center; sister Joan Colucci and husband Ralph of West Burke; half-sister Gertrude Goodsell and husband Harry of Wells River; sister-in-law Olive Morey of St. Johnsbury; Elaine's brothers and sisters: Marion Whitney and husband Bryce of Hyde Park, Barbara Degree of St. Johnsbury, Herbert Reed Jr. and wife Theresa of Lyndonville, Earl Reed and wife Peggy of Newark; several nieces and nephews, cousins and many very close friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased his brothers Herman Noyes Jr. and Laurence Noyes; his sister Helen Dwyer; his half brothers Jack Caswell, Louis Caswell, Earl Morey and Robert Noyes; half-sisters Arabelle Sheehan and Patricia Fifield. Ronald was a member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge in St. Johnsbury, and the American Legion in Lyndonville. A celebration of his life will be observed on Friday, May 30, from 4-7 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Functions on the Sutton Road (formerly Max's). Family committal services will have taken place at the Lyndon Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
