Dr. John (Jack) F. Moore Jr., 69, of Gibbs, Barbados passed peacefully on Feb. 4, 2019 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. His wife, Paula, and sister-in-law, Prisca were by his side. Jack was born in Rutland, Vt. on Oct. 18, 1949, the son of the late Dr. John and Josephine Moore, formerly of St. Johnsbury. He attended St. Gabriel's and Notre Dame Catholic Schools in St. Johnsbury and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1966. Jack went on to the University of Vermont and UVM Medical School to become a doctor. His Internship and Residency were spent in Vancouver, Canada, Minnesota, California, Arizona and India. After traveling back and forth between skiing in the winter and swimming in the ocean, he found he loved the Caribbean more and worked as a physician in different hospitals in St. Thomas, St. Lucia and then spent over 32 years caring for the people of Barbados. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Paula Sadoo Moore of Barbados; his sisters, Nancy Wesley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Joan Lint (Ted) of Tequesta, Fla., Margaret Lusker (David) of Winter Garden, Fla., and Sue Moore (Claudia) of San Martin, Calif.; nieces Heidi Reininger and Kristina Garlin, nephews Fritz (Deb) Reininger and Scott (Christa) Olsen; great-nephews Alex Orr and Brayden Olsen; and many sisters and brothers-in law.
