Ronald Green, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Burlington at the UVM Medical Center with his wife and children at his side. Born in Montpelier, Vt. on July 30, 1947, Ron was a hard worker at a young age working on the family dairy farm. He attended St. Johnsbury Academy and after graduation joined the army where he proudly served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He started his career working as a lineman at Green Mountain Power for 25 years followed by several years at IBM and finishing his career working for the State of Vermont as a maintenance technician until retirement. He was a member of #49 Winooski Lodge and all the bodies of the Scottish Rite and York Rite and a member of Queen Esther #7. In retirement, Ron enjoyed working with his beehives, gardening, watching sports especially basketball and just all round loved being around nature. We will miss his wit and humor and the many stories he told over the years about his life experiences. He was predeceased by his parents Ross Solomon Green and Helen Vaughn Green, sister Linda and Shawn Patrick. Ron is survived by his wife, Julie, their children and spouses Scott and Denise Dow Green of Waterbury, Rachel Green and Todd Robinson of Waterford, Jennifer Patrick of Essex, Danielle Patrick of Williston, sister Cindy Green, Burton and Becky Green of Waterbury, brother Carroll and Donna Green of Punta Gorda, Fl. and grandchildren Bridget Dow and Justin Brady, Connor Dow and Ashelyn Burroughs, Izabella Robinson, Cecilia Robinson, Madison and Makenna Patrick. A celebration of his life will be held at Wesley Methodist Church, 56 S Main St, Waterbury on Friday, August 6th at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the American Legion, 16 Stowe Street, Waterbury.
