Mitchell Tenney of Manchester, N.H., a St. Johnsbury native, passed away suddenly May 2, 2016 at the age of 59. He was born in Burlington, Vermont on Jan. 25, 1957, the son of Warren and Beverly (Tabor) Tenney. On Sept. 17, 1988 he and Linda Wood of St. Johnsbury were married. Mitch graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1975. He then went into the service and was honorably discharged from the Army. After attending vocational tech school at Claremont, New Hampshire, Mitch was a lab tech at DHMC and served at Concord, Nashua, and Manchester. Mitch loved deep sea fishing, bird watching, and loved the great outdoors. In his younger years he loved skiing and bird hunting. He is survived by his wife Linda of Manchester; daughter Emily Tenney of Manchester; his mother Beverly Tenney of St. Johnsbury; his sister Colleen Lowe and husband Malcolm of Belmont Mass.; two brothers: Scott Tenney of St. Johnsbury, David Tenney and wife Dee-Lynn of Lyndonville, three nephews: Jason, Brian and Brenden; all of Linda's extended family. His father Warren passed away in 2001. He was really close to his late grandmother Emma Tenney. A gathering of friends and family will be held in St. Johnsbury at the Sayles Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10 from 4-6 p.m.
