Oliver Kelly Doerner , 28, died Dec. 10, 2005, at his mother's and sister's home in Barnet. He was born March 21, 1977, in New York City. Oliver was a woodsman, a master carpenter, an artist, a poet and an organic gardener. He loved best to be in the woods around Roy Mountain and Symes Pond with his dogs, especially his beloved Natty. In recent years, he spent much of his time with troubled children and had a particular gift for helping them feel better about themselves. He was a sweet, gentle, beautiful, brilliant, huge spirit, and we will love and cherish him in our hearts until the end of time. He leaves behind his mother, Mary Donnelly and her partner Louise Brill of Barnet; his father, Carl Doerner and his partner Sherrill Hogan of Conway, Mass.; his sister, Casey Doerner and her husband David LaRocque of Barnet; his grandmother, Frances Donnelly of Madison, Conn.; his aunts and uncles, Sheila and Mike Munger of San Diego, Calif., Richard and Barbara Donnelly of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Walt and Marilyn Rueger of Okeana, Ohio; many cousins; and special friends, Ray and Eileen Goldfeder of Hastings, N.Y., and Mary Elliff of Cambridge, Mass. A family gathering and scattering of Oliver's ashes will be private. Friends may visit the family from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2389 Whitehill Road, Barnet. Memorial contributions may be made to: The SAD/SAC Fund, P.O. Box 8, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819; Rural Vermont, 15 Barre St. Suite 2, Montpelier, VT 05602; or Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, P.O. Box 808, Hudson, MA 01749.
