Adam Robert Hovey died early Sunday morning, June 20, 2010, as the result of an automobile accident on the Severance Hill Road in St. Johnsbury. He was born in St. Johnsbury on May 18, 1989, the only child of Donald and Cindi (Reagan) Hovey. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 2007 and was employed as a construction worker with J.A. McDonald. In his brief 21 years, Adam tried to live his life to its fullest. He just took a trip to Utah with his best friend, Rick Labounty, who was like the brother he never had. There are a lot of treasured memories of his time spent on the Connecticut River, and he loved playing golf at Kirby Country Club. He is survived by his Mom and Dad, Cindi and Don Hovey, of St. Johnsbury; his maternal, Gram Ernestine Reagan, of St. Johnsbury, paternal Gram Shirley Neveu and Grampie Frank of St. Johnsbury Center; auntie Lorri Ham and husband Clay of West Burke; uncle Tom Reagan of North Concord, uncle Dennis Hovey of St. Johnsbury; a few cousins. He was predeceased by Don's father, Robert Hovey, and Cindi's father Robert Reagan with whom he had a very special relationship. Friends and family will gather at Sayles Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Recognizing his love of animals, memorial contributions could be directed to either Northeast Kingdom Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 462, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819; or to SAD/SAC, P.O. Box 8, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
