Dareena Sylvia Richard, 16, of Walden died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury. She was born Aug. 22, 2001 in Morrisville; the daughter of Darren M. Richard and Raquel L. Flanagan. She resided in Walden with her Aunt and Uncle, Angeline and John Clifford, her sister and her cousins. She attended Walden public schools and was a junior at St. Johnsbury Academy, where she was an honor roll student all three years. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, singing, talking, listening, creating her artwork, playing her favorite video games, drawing and creating new fantasy characters with names and a background story. Her dream was to study graphic illustration and one day design video games. She was good-hearted and very kind to everyone she came into contact with. She loved animals, making people smile and was always putting other people first. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survivors include: her biological mother, Raquel Flanagan and brother Dakota Richard of Sheffield; her father, Darren Richard and girlfriend Casandra Rich and her two children of Walden; her older sister Kayla Flanagan and fiance Dan Brown of West Paris, Maine; her Aunt and Uncle, Angeline and John Clifford, her sister Shalbee Richard, cousins Jade Richard, Cullen, Ethan and Aden Clifford, Bud and Judy Clifford, Peter, Casey, Rylee and Hunter Clifford all of Walden; Her Uncle Dion and Aunt Maggie, Jakub and Olivia Richard of Oceanside, Calif.; her Uncle Ryan, Aunt Angie and their six children of Gillette, Wy.; her Aunt Rebecca of Rapid City, South Dakota; Grandparents, Sylvia and Dennis Richard of Walden; Betty and Jerry Flanagan of Rapid City, South Dakota; Great-grandmothers, Margaret Brochu of Hardwick, Evelyn Flanagan of Rapid City, South Dakota and Lois Lindholm of Buffalo, South Dakota; along with many many other cousins and people who considered her family. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, Sept. 29, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm St., Hardwick. A Private celebration of her Life will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers and card contributions in her memory, the family asks that donations be made to Bud and Judy Clifford for a Memorial Fund. P.O. Box 54, West Danville, Vt. 05873
