Raul Lucien "Ralph" Roy of Springdale, Ark., died July 28, 2012, in Springdale at the age of 97 years. He was born Feb. 22, 1915 in St. Johnsbury, Vt., the youngest child of Edgar and Emma Thiboudeau Roy. He married the former Gratia June Nolin, of St. Johnsbury, Vt. They lived in Beloit and Janesville, Wis., for 27 years, retiring to Keene, N.H., Rogers, Ark., Bowling Green, Ky., Madison, Wis., and finally to Springdale, Ark. Gratia Roy died April 12, 2002, in Madison, Wis. Ralph was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. He was affiliated with Fairbanks Morse in St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Beloit, Wis., and later worked for Sears Roebuck in Beloit for 20 years. He purchased Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville, Wis., in 1965 and operated that business until his retirement in 1974. Ralph loved to work in his garden, and did so well into old age. He and Gratia spent many happy retirement years traveling by motor home throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. He is preceded by his parents, two sisters, Mary (Roy) Ashcroft and Yvette (Roy) Reeves, and two brothers, Roland Roy and Leopold (Paul) Roy. Survivors include two sons, Michael Roy of Madison, Wis., and William (Suzanne) Roy of West Chester, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kirsten (Mason) Dorn of Verona, Wis., Alexander Roy of West Chester, Ohio, and Maxwell Roy of West Chester, Ohio; one great-grandchild, Ayla Grey Dorn, of Verona, Wis. A memorial service in his memory will be held at Corpus Christi Parish, St. Johnsbury, Vt., at a future date to be determined by the family. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
