ADAMS: Marion H., 81, formerly of Heaton Woods, Montpelier, died Monday evening, July 7, 2003, at Rowan Court Health and Rehabilitation Center in Barre. She moved to Montpelier from East Burke in 1982. Mrs. Adams was born in Lyndon Center May 24, 1922, the daughter of Leon and Kate (Balentine) Hopkins. She attended schools in Lyndon and graduated from Lyndon Institute and Lyndon State College, attending Columbia University for one year. She married Clinton Adams Sr. June 23, 1947. She taught school for over 30 years, mostly in the Burke school system. While Mr. Adams was serving in the U.S. Navy, Mrs. Adams was teaching school in Newfoundland and in Kittery, Maine. Mr. Adams died in 1972. Marion was a member of the Lyndonville Legion Auxiliary, D.A.R., and the Retired Teachers Association and was involved with many musical groups in Lyndonville. She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Adams Foster and husband Wayne of Montpelier; one son, Clinton Adams Jr. and wife Shirley of Berlin; eight grandchildren, Chris, Jamon and Jaron Foster of Montpelier, Mary Ellen Mack of Otego, N.Y., Kelly Sicely of Barre Town, Rachel Adams of Eden, Amy Adams of Plainfield and Jessica Adams of Berlin; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Victoria. A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, 137 Main St., Montpelier. Burial will be in the Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Barber & Lanier Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Montpelier.
