Len then went on to attend Norwich University where his course of study was interrupted by World War II. He graduated with a bachelor's degree after serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1942 to 1946. He then went on to M.I.T. to receive a master's degree in electrical engineering. He and his wife Connie made their home in Lexington, Mass., from 1952 until 1969, where Len was quite involved in the Elk's Club and held the office of Exalted Ruler in the mid-1960s. Len and Connie returned to live in their hometown of Lyndonville in the mid-1990s, after many years living in Massachusetts and Connecticut. In May 2003, they moved back to Massachusetts into an assisted living environment close to some of their children. Leonard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor "Connie" (Batchelder) Hopkins of Westboro, Mass.; and his four children, Richard L. Hopkins of Holland, Mass., Douglas B.
