Ruth Jackman of Lyndonville, Vt., went home to be with the Lord at the age of 8 5 on Monday, February 6, 2012 at her home on 277 Strawberry Hill, Lyndonville, Vt. Born on June 10, 1926 in Sutton, Vt., she was the daughter of Clyde and Ruby Ethel (Davis) Jackman Bigelow. Ruth graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1944. Ruth was a school teacher for many years in Barton and Stowe, Vt. She knitted hats for the newborns at Copley Hospital for many years as well. Ruth was a longtime member at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. She loved to make her own greeting cards, knit, scrapbook, go to the band concerts, read, play Yahtzee, put together puzzles and volunteer at her church. She also loved the trips that she made during the holidays to see her "adopted family". She leaves her "adopted family" Mary and Michael Murray, Jericho, Vt.; Brittany and Daniel Forthun and their son, Alex, Essex, Vt.; Eric Murray, Jericho, Vt.; Michaela Murray, Jericho, Vt.; Bruce and Ann Brooks, Navarre, Fla.; Bob and Vicki Brooks, West Burke, Vt.; Linda and Dick Brummel, Northfield,Ill.; Raymond and Sigrid Brooks, Lyndonville, Vt. Also cousins Lorraine and Joseph Millay, Springfield, Vt.; Norma and Carl Hackett, Derby, Vt.; Wayne and Fern Leland, Fla.; and Tillie Pierce, Mass. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church with Pastor Matthew Bowles officiating. There are no calling hours Memorial contributions can be made in Ruth's name to Lyndonville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 543, 100 Church Street, Lyndonville, Vermont 05851
