BENNINGTON - Norma A. Gray Stevens, 90 a former longtime resident of Bennington passed away peacefully on Sunday November 29, 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama. The daughter of Archie R. and Lucille (Barker) Gray, she was born in Sutton on September 21, 1925. She grew up in Sutton where she attended local schools and married Wallace Stevens on June 20, 1945. They relocated to Bennington in 1969. Mr. Stevens passed away in 1997. She worked at Bennington Brush Company and Jard Company; however, she was most happy as a full-time mother for her seven children. She was a devoted member of the church of Christ. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and word search puzzles. She leaves her sons, Paul Stevens and wife, Dottie of Cambridge, NY and Franklin Stevens and wife, Nancy of Bennington, daughters, Joy Haddix and husband, Brad of Searcy, AR, Joni Stevens of Eagle Bridge, NY, Jeanie Partlow and husband, David of Portland, OR and Brenda Stanford and husband, Kevin of Oakman, AL, 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, David Stevens in 2009, granddaughter, Angela in 2014 and siblings, Dale Gray, Fred Gray, Wayne Gray, Judy Damon, Roberta King and Alfreda Bump. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3 at 2pm at the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home with Kenneth Nicholson of the church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial gifts may be made to either the Bennington church of Christ or Bennington Rescue Squad in care of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
