TRUE: Hazel E. (Stimpson), 66, of Candler, N.C., and formerly of Lyndonville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at the Missions-St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville, N.C. She was born in Newport, Nov. 4, 1934, the daughter of Harris W. and Gertrude (Drew) Stimpson. She graduated from Lyndon Institute, Class of 1954. On June 19, 1964, she married Wayne True. She was employed by St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. as a records clerk for more than 20 years. In 1983 they moved to Ohio, then in 1990 they moved to Illinois, and in 1996 the moved to Candler, N.C. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was a woman with strong family ties, and spending time with her family was most important. She is survived by her husband, Wayne True of Candler, N.C.; their son, Michael W. True of Charlotte, N.C.; their daughter and her family, Beth Scheck and her husband Rodney and children McEnna and Dylan of Grand Blanc, Mich.; a brother, Harris W. Stimpson Jr. and his wife Linda of South Wheelock; a sister, Rose Wheeler and her husband Douglas of Lyndonville; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Urie and her husband George of Passumpsic, and Marianne Desrocher of Plymouth, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Lyndonville, with the Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow at Westlook Cemetery in Glover. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory may be directed to the Missions-St. Joseph's Foundation, 509 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
