Maxine J. Rodger of Newark, Vermont died at NVRH in St. Johnsbury on January 4, 2016. Maxine was born on June 8, 1951 to Richard and Laura Rodger of Newark, VT. Maxine graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1969 and was married to Richard Sheldon in 1970. Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the races at Bear Ridge, watching her sons Karl and Steve in local Demolition Derbies. She also like to attend baseball games her son Rodger coached. Playing Bingo at West Burke Senior Meal Site and will be especially remembered for her specialty candies and her baked goods. She is survived by her sons Rodger Sheldon and fiancé Valerie Rutledge of Concord, VT, Steve and Melissa Sheldon of St. Johnsbury, Karl and Crystal Sheldon of St. Johnsbury; her mother Laura Rodger of Newark, VT, Sister Kathy &Stanley Gray of Claremont, N.H. brother, Rocky & Charlotte Rodger of Newark, Vt.; Grandchildren (Rodger) Benjamin and Samuel Rutledge, (Steve) Stevie Sheldon, Hannah Leonard, (Karl) Brandon, Ethan, Aiden as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her Father Richard Rodger and Brother Richard Rodger. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 4-7 pm at Pearsons Funeral Home on 70 Church Street in Lyndonville, Vermont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the West Burke Senior Meal Site.
