Salli (Prinn) Gardner, 50, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, at home, surrounded by her family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. Salli was born June 26, 1956, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of the Rev. Ronald P. and Barbara (Pike) Prinn. In 1974, she graduated from Lyndon Institute. She has been an employee of The Caledonian-Record for nearly 20 years, working in production before moving to the newsroom as a copy editor. Salli loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed canoeing, especially on Joe's Pond, and was an active participant in the East Burke White Water races held for several years on the Passumpsic River. She also enjoyed camping and hunting, and was an excellent marksman. Her favorite place to be was by the ocean on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Salli is survived by her dearest companion, her black Labrador retriever, "Buddy"; her loving children, Heather Keithan and her companion, Michael Boivin of East Lyndon (P.O. Box 252, Lyndonville, VT 05851), and Scott Keithan and his wife, Jennifer, of St. Johnsbury; three grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler and Hannah Keithan of St. Johnsbury; her special friend, who was like a daughter to her, Sissy Ball of Sutton; her mother, Barbara Prinn of Claremont, N.H.; five sisters, Margaret Prinn, Lorrie Webber, Betsy Joki, Paula Graves and Pamela Friend; five brothers, Stephen Prinn, Andy Prinn, Douglas Prinn, Philip Colbath and Paul Colbath. She was predeceased by her father, the Rev. Ronald Prinn, October 24, 2006; and by a sister, Carol Jones. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lyndon Center Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to NVRH, marked for Norris Cotton Cancer Center-North, Attention Jim Flynn, "In memory of Salli Gardner," P.O. Box 905, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819. Guibord Funeral Home of Lyndonville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
