BRILL: Nelson C., 71, of East Lyndon, died at his home Tuesday
morning, Sept. 16, 2003. He was born June 26, 1932 in
Lyndon, the son of the late Lewis and Rosa (Cassady) Brill.
Nelson was a graduate of Lyndon Institute, Class of 1952. On
Oct. 20, 1956, he married Shirley Bishop. Nelson worked on
area dairy farms in the 1950s. He then worked as a mechanic
for Jack and David Cassady for several years at the Mobil
station at the corner of Depot and Broad streets in Lyndonville.
In the early 1960s, he worked as a truck driver delivering eggs
throughout New England and New York. In 1964, Nelson began
a 30-year career with Lyndon Institute retiring as maintenance
supervisor. For many years he worked part-time for his brother
Lewis at the Western Auto store in Lyndonville helping out
wherever he could. He enjoyed woodworking and after his
retirement he began his own business, NCB Woodworking,
building tables and chairs, etc., out of his shop located beside
his home. An avid bowler, Nelson bowled Wednesday nights at
Gold Crown Lanes for over 40 years. He also loved music and
played guitar at many kitchen junkets and was a member of
The Country Ramblers Band. Hunting and fishing also brought
him great enjoyment. He was a member of the Moose Club in
St. Johnsbury. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley
Brill of East Lyndon; four children, Darryl Brill and wife Lynda of
Lyndon, Rodney Brill and wife Debbie of Lyndonville, Jacqueline
Kincaid and husband Shawn of Lyndon, and Stuart Brill and wife
Diana of Danville; five grandchildren, Travis, Branden, Ethan,
Nicholas and Heather; a brother, Lewis Brill and wife Carlene of
Sheffield; a sister, Isabelle Monahan and husband Eugene of
Milford, N.H.; a brother-in-law, Richard Swain of Needham
Heights, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by a brother, George Brill; and two sisters, Lucille
Swain and Evelyn Thorpe. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with the
Rev. Tim Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyndon
Center Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Friday evening
from 6-8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations
