Mrs. Jean Conn (Paris) died peacefully in Pierce Memorial Baptist Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Brooklyn, CT at the age of 81. Jean is survived by her children, Todd Hall and wife Lisa of Greentown, PA, Jan Prinn and husband Steve of Eastford, CT, Stacy Hall and wife Melissa of East Burke, VT; stepchildren, Rob Conn of East Burke, VT and Sandee Conn Scozzafava of Port Saint Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Ashley Mohring,Trentin Hall, Ali Prinn, Michael Conn, Jeremy Eastman, Lisa Eastman Partridge and Eric Corum; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Lanny Paris of Lyndonville, VT and Sally Baillargeon and husband Jerry of Lyndonville, VT; nieces and nephews, Gary Paris, Rhonda Paris, Carol Haley, Dianna Linnell, Preston Baillargeon, Gail Baillargeon, Wade Baillargeon, Robert Baillargeon, and Robbie Sherrer; her first husband Fred Hall and many special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy King and Murray Paris, her husband of 30 years Robert "Bob" Conn of Lyndonville, VT on April 24, 2005, and her sister-in-law Beverly Paris. Jean was born on April 8, 1936 in St. Johnsbury, VT to Dorothy (Sherrer) and Murray Paris. She graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1954 and went on to graduate from Lyndon Teacher's College (now LSC) with a degree in teaching. She began her teaching career in St. Johnsbury but the majority of her career was spent at Lyndon Corner School which later became Lyndon Town School, teaching the fourth grade. Her students were so very important to her and she will be remembered as one of those favorite teachers by many. Jean was an accomplished horsewoman and prior to becoming ill would often enjoy riding horseback with family. She was a supportive mother who cheered her children on in whatever they were involved with. She was a generous and witty woman who loved her friends and family; she enjoyed travel especially her summer trips to Maine. She was an active and dedicated member of the Methodist Church in Lyndonville and was a proud member of their choir. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Lyndonville United Methodist Church, the committal at Lyndon Center Cemetery will follow immediately. Rev. Barb Dwyer will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a local charity that benefits student education or elderly care. The family would like to thank all of Jean's caregivers for their care and dedication.
