Lois Jean Gilman, age 78, of Lyndonville, VT passed away the evening of Friday, March 18th, 2016 at NVRH. Lois was born in Lyndonville, VT on April 26, 1937. She was the daughter to the late Eugene & Helen Greenwood. She was raised in Lyndonville, VT and was educated at Lyndon Institute, graduating in 1955. Lois worked as a papergirl, where she met her husband, Monroe "Sonny" Gilman. She was also a homemaker, who loved to cook and bake for her loved ones. She enjoyed celebrating with family, playing cards and watching the birds. Lois had many health problems over the last 50 years. She was a strong woman and always portrayed an optimistic attitude. She is survived by her sisters: Betsy Lund & Patricia Duford, brother: Roland Greenwood, loving husband of 60+ years: Sonny Gilman, her children: Howard & Debbie Gilman, Brenda & Ervine, Sr. Aiken, and Brad & Donna Gilman, her 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Austin and Bonnie Green. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Pearson's Funeral Home in Lyndonville, VT from 6pm-8pm. Burial will take place in late spring.
