Russell G. Norway of West Burke passed away at the VA
Hospital in White River Junction on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at
the age of 65 with his sister Deana at his side.
Russell was born in Hardwick, Vt., on March 23, 1947 and
graduated from Lyndon Institute in June of 1966. In October of
1966 he joined the U. S. Army. A veteran of the Vietnam
Conflict, he served in the Army for 15 years and later in the
Army National Guard with a total of 30 plus years of dedicated
service. His last mission was in Kuwait at the age of 58.
Russell was predeceased by his father Milton S. Norway, his
brother Richard M. Norway, and sister Elaine Masure.
Russell will be deeply missed by his mother, Ione Norway, of
Sheffield Square; his two beloved sons: Johnnie Norway and
Danny Norway, both of San Francisco, Calif.; brothers and
sisters to include: Milt Norway known as 'Babe', Kathie
DelMastro, Deana Goodell, Helen W. Johnson and Carmel Stone.
A private graveside services for family and close friends will be
held at the Stannard Cemetery where he will be placed with his
brother and Dad.
