Rebecca Ann Grenier, 36, lost a twenty-year battle with depression when she took her own life Saturday, April 1st.
Though she struggled for most of her life with depression and mental illness, it did not define who she was to her family and close friends.
Becky battled her demons every day and, despite this, always remained a caring and warm person.
She had a consuming interest in fashion, and created many original outfits for herself and for family and friends.
She designed and created bags as well. Becky loved pickup trucks and country music.
She graduated from Lyndon Institute and earned an associates degree in social services from Champlain College.
After graduating, she began work in her chosen field at the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging.
Becky is predeceased by grandfather, Edward Harper, and grandmother, Ann Harper.
Surviving family include mother Susan Wolston and stepfather William Wolston of Newport, NH, brother Paul Perry of Richmond, uncle Rob Harper of O'Fallon, MO, and aunt Trish Harper of Hancock, NH. She leaves behind a large circle of friends, as well as exhusband and dear friend Christopher Grenier of Essex.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
There will be no memorial service, and no calling hours.
Chris wrote this: "If the measure of a person is based on whether they leave this life having made the world a little bit better,
I know Becky will find herself in good standing. I will always remember Becky for her strength, courage, unshakable compassion and willingness to help others.
I hope at last she finds some measure of peace. There is no one else more deserving of it."
