On Saturday, November 14, 2015, God gained an amazing angel, Abbey Melissa Turmel after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was 28. Born on July 13, 1987, she was the daughter of Leon R. and Jane (Gagnon) Turmel. Abbey grew up in the Lyndonville/St. Johnsbury area. She was a 2004 graduate of Lyndon Institute and then attended Johnson State College for dance. Abbey loved to laugh, dance and listen to music. She leaves her loving daughter Violet, her fiancé Dallas Bona of Windsor; her mother Jane Turmel and husband Michael Schaefer of Springfield, her father Leon Turmel and wife Tammy of West Burke; her sister Sherry Turmel of Ontario, CA, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-5pm, Sunday, November 22 at The Lyndonville VFW, 156 Hill Street, Lyndonville, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund for her daughter's education or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern New England Chapter, 114 Perimeter Rd, Nashua, NH 03063.
