Claire G. Morency of St. Johnsbury, Vt., passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 2005, at the age of 77. She was born in St. Johnsbury on Dec. 9, 1927, the daughter of Alcide and Leda (Fournier) Morency. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Rita Morency, with whom she made her home; and by a brother, the Rev. Rosario Morency. Rita passed away June 27, 2001, Fr. Morency on Oct. 25, 1991. Claire was a 1944 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy. She began her career at the Passumpsic Savings Bank in 1957 and retired as a vice president in the loan department. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. Her family includes a few cousins and their families. Since her sister Rita's death and throughout Claire's illness, Claire was supported and cared for by her faithful and dear friend, Marguerite Willey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
