YARMOUTH PORT MA - Arthur G. Donley, 77, of Yarmouthport, MA, Monday, October 14, 2013, at home after a long illness. He was the husband for 54 years of Beverly (Ball) Donley. Born in Hyannis to Gerald D. and Mildred L. (Pero) Donley, he graduated from St. Johnsbury in St. Johnsbury, VT, where he played football and attended the University of Vermont. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War and continued in the U.S. Army Reserves. Arthur worked as a builder and carpenter, co-founding Trio Builders. He was a member of the Junior Rod & Gun Club (started by his father at Bass River Rod & Gun Club). He enjoyed golf and riding horses with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by a daughter, Linda Donley-Hosking & her husband, Richard, of Yarmouth, and a son, Peter J. Donley & his wife, Lisa, of Centerville; and three grandchildren, Michael Gorrell & his wife, Jodie, of Chicago, Melissa Monroe & her husband, Ryan, of Centerville, and Peter John Arthur Donley of Centerville. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 17th, at 1 p.m., in Ancient Cemetery, Ancient Way, Yarmouthport.
