SMITH: Lorraine F. (Sinclair) , 67, of Wheelock, died Monday morning, May 3, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born Jan. 24, 1937 in Littleton, N.H., daughter of the late Reginald W. and Marion N. (Abbott) Sinclair. A graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy's Class of 1955, Lorraine worked for Prudential Insurance Company in St. Johnsbury for a few years. Later she began a career which lasted more than 25 years with St. Johnsbury Trucking Co., where she worked and studied her way up the corporate ladder filling several positions and retired as a department head. Lorraine enjoyed spending time at her home in Wheelock, crocheting, working in her flower gardens, going to horse pulling events, and vacationing at Fryeburg Fair every fall with her husband David and many friends. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, David R. Smith of Wheelock; her beloved stepfather, Ralph H. Peters of St. Johnsbury, by whom she was raised; three daughters, Kim McKee of Florida, Karen Westover of Walden, and Kelly Ruggles and her husband Troy of St. Johnsbury; three stepchildren, Michael Smith of Lyndonville, Robert Smith and his wife Laura of California, and Timothy Camber and his wife Rebecca of Wheelock; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Wayland Sinclair of Wheelock; a sister, Nancy Isham of West Danville; nine in-laws, Bradley Smith of Texas, Duane Smith and his wife Joan of Wheelock, Robert Smith and his wife Janet of Wheelock, Gaylon Smith and his wife Alva of Wheelock, Preston Smith and his wife Audrey of Wheelock, Lorraine Poulin and her husband Russell of Wheelock, Jennie Edmunds and her husband Ashley of Lyndonville, Gail Smith of St. Johnsbury, and Donna Camber and her husband Charlie of Wheelock; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Keith Westover in 1996; two sisters, Geraldine Rundgren and Lorretta Sinclair; and a brother-in-law, Delford Smith. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 11 a.m., at the New Wheelock Cemetery on Sulfur Springs Road in Wheelock, with the Rev. John Marshall officiating. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 11, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Lorraine's memory may be directed to the American Lung Association, 30 Farrell St., South Burlington, VT 05403-9987.
