Patricia Ash passed away at her home in Waterford on April 7, 2011, at the age of 73.
She was born in St. Johnsbury on Dec. 25, 1937, the daughter of Harold and Christine
(Downing) Kittredge. Pat graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1955. Rodney
and Pat were married June 22, 1957. She was employed for many years by Hovey's Shops.
Pat loved to travel with her friends. She also liked to braid rugs and knit, and was an
excellent cook and homemaker. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were
among her greatest joys. She always looked forward to family reunions and seeing her
relatives. A true alumna of St. Johnsbury Academy, she rarely missed a class reunion or
a St. J-LI football game and was an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her husband Rodney Ash of Waterford; her three
children, Karen Cate and husband Christopher of Lyman, N.H., Wendy
Donahue and husband Michael of St. Johnsbury, Mathew Ash and wife
Krista of Waterford; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ian, Aaron, Leah,
Alyssa, Julia and Mark; two great-grand children, Hailey and Landen; a
brother, Gary Kittredge; and a sister, Joyce Neilsen and husband Robert of Swanton.
She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Mark Ash, in 1987.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sayles
Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
