Angela Mae Devenger, 64, of Fletcher, Vermont passed away on May 8, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Angela was born on Dec. 15, 1948, to Mae (Fenoff) Noyes in St. Johnsbury, Vt. She graduated from the St. Johnsbury Academy in 1967, and later graduated from the Vermont College of Cosmetology in Burlington in 1972. She was predeceased by her mother Mae on Aug. 3, 2000, her brother in law Demmy Devenger on Aug. 27 1994, and her in-laws Nancy Margaret and Wendell Devenger, Sr. Angela was a very social and loving person. She loved her family and animals, especially her beloved cats (Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, and Jerry Lee Lewis Devenger). Angela loved to ride and show her Morgan Horses and grew to become an accomplished rider. Angela was known for striking up a conversation with anyone at any time, and was an extremely amiable person. She loved music and dancing. Angela always viewed her most admirable achievement as being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Angela enjoyed her work in the human services field as a para-educator in Milton and a personal care worker at Howard Community Services. She leaves her husband of 40 years Wendell Devenger, Jr. three children: Paul Devenger and his fiancé Crissie Beck of East Concord, Pat Devenger of St. Johnsbury, Jolene Brennan and husband David of St. Johnsbury; 4 grandchildren: Kaylee Devenger, Madison Labounty, Molly and Daniel Brennan; and a close cousin who was very much like a sister to her, Brenda Cormier and her husband Larry of Danville.; Wendell's sister Sharon Jurentkuff and her husband Jack of Vienna, Va., sister-in-law Maureen Devenger of Columbia, S.C.; and their families. Visiting hours will be held in St. Johnsbury at the Sayles Funeral Home on Monday, May 13 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Danville Tuesday, May 14 at 2 p.m. at the Danville Congregational Church. Mr. John Sleeper will officiate the service; the pastor, the Rev. Douglas Carter regrets he will not be available due to prior commitments. Burial will follow at the Danville Green Cemetery.
