Peter K. Rutledge, 49, of Lyndonville died Wednesday morning, May 16, 2012 at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury with his family by his side. He was born in St. Johnsbury on August 26, 1962 the son of Karl and Lorraine (Miles) Rutledge. Peter graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1980 and received an associate's degree in 1983 from NH Technical College in Berlin, N.H. He worked as a mechanical engineer for EHV Weidmann in St. Johnsbury for 21 years. On May 14, 1995 he married Valerie Sinclair. Peter was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend whose first priority was his wife and two sons, Ben and Sam. For many years, he coached Lyndon Youth Baseball and was a member of Caledonia Forest and Stream Club in St. Johnsbury. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping with his family. Survivors include his wife, Valerie Rutledge and their two sons, Benjamin and Samuel of Lyndonville; his brother, Ken Rutledge and wife Katherine of Barnet; his sister, Jane Rolland and husband Joseph of Kennebunk, Maine; his mother-in-law, Sharon Sinclair of Wheelock; two sisters-in-law, Cassie Sweeney and husband Jeffrey of Mohawk, N.Y.; and Heather Sinclair and fiancée Frederick Rank of Herkimer, N.Y.; his father-in-law, Wayland Sinclair and wife Terri of Wheelock; six nieces and nephews, Erin, Erica, Hannah, Nicole, Kyle and Kevin; several aunts and uncles; and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his mother-in-law's companion Carroll "Bub" Noyes. A Memorial service will be held at the Lyndonville First Congregational Church on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
