Hunter / Putney I am researching my family tree and one clue has led me to the village of Peacham, Vermont. One ancestor was married on 21 Jan 1818 in Peacham church, affiliation unknown. The groom was Samuel Walter Hunter and the bride was Judith Putney. Samuel Hunter was born in 1792 and Judith Putney in 1795. It would appear from the 1820 census that they still resided in Peacham, but I can not be sure. I noticed that the UCC church was in a building from dating from 1806. Since they were married in 1818 it is possible that this might have been the site of their nuptials. If there are copies of any material connected to the Hunter or Putney families I would be very interested in obtaining either copies or reference source material.
