The cemetery is located on US Routes 2 & 7 just South of the intersection with Vermont Route 127 at Colchester Village. It is a town cemetery in good condition. The earliest burial date recorded was in 1802 It is an old cemetery with the majority of the burials prior to 1860. Plot numbers were assigned as recorded and are for reference purposes. They do not correspond to any plot plan or map. My comments are in (blue).

  WILLIAM DAY MUNSON. A graduate of Norwich University 1854. Captain Co D 13th Vermont Regiment U.S.V.  Sept 6, 1862.  Promoted Lieutenant Colonel May 5, 1863.  At Gettysburg, July 2, 1863, he commanded the detached left wing of the Regiment supporting A Battery of Cemetery Hill, July 3, second in command, he participated with the Regiment, in the deadly assault on the flank of the Confederate charging columns, bravely doing his full duty in that terrible hour, which turned the tide of battle at the point since called "the high water mark of the rebellion". This tablet is placed here by his comrades of the 13th Regiment, as a token of their respect for him as an officer, and their affection for him as a man.  July 3rd, 1906
